The Ripple Tank Economy Model is a comprehensive wave demonstration system built around a transparent acrylic plastic tank supported in a sturdy plastic frame with recesses for four adjustable levelling feet. Tank edges are shaped to minimise unwanted reflections, ensuring clean, readable wave patterns.

Two light alloy uprights carry a horizontal rippler support rod, adjustable for height. The ripple assembly is elastically suspended from this rod and consists of a 4–6V DC motor on a wooden beam. An eccentric weight on the motor shaft causes the beam to oscillate, generating surface waves. Two plastic spheres on right-angle rods serve as two-point sources.

A metal rod is fixed centrally into one short side of the frame to support the illuminant. The 12V, 24W lamp is housed in a lamp house with a long supporting rod suitable for attachment to a retort stand, projecting wave patterns for classroom visibility.

• Note: This model is supplied without a power supply. A 4–6V DC source is required for the motor and a 12V supply for the illuminant. Power supplies are available separately.
