The search coil is essential for measuring field strengths and flux densities in the space between the poles of electromagnets. Use an oscilloscope to monitor induced voltages or pass AC or DC currents through the coils to observe the resulting effects.
The compact coils contain 5000 turns of thin wire, mounted on circuit board strips for superior durability and to relocate the coil connections to the other end of the strip, where 4mm sockets are present.
A. Axial coil: Measures along the coil's axis, often utilized for detecting magnetic fields produced by wires carrying current, electromagnets, or other devices with aligned magnetic field lines.
B. Lateral coil: Measures perpendicular to the axis, typically utilized for detecting alterations in magnetic flux within a designated area, as well as examining changes in the magnetic field caused by the movement of magnetic objects including magnets and magnetic materials
