LC Chambers are instrumental for running chromatographic separations of mixtures. The chamber holds and runs the TLC plate, which is composed of a thin layer of absorbent material on top of a flat support like glass, plastic, or aluminum.

It gives a controlled atmosphere in which the separation happens and facilitates the movement of the mobile phase solvent across the TLC plate. This helps to distinguish between components of the mixture based on their different attractants to the absorbent material.
