The Spectrum Tube EHV Unit and Tube Support is used to excite gas molecules in spectrum tubes for experiments involving atomic spectra. It provides high voltage safely and can be adjusted for emission or absorption line observations.

The Spectrum Tube EHV Unit and Tube Support is a self-contained unit that can be powered by a 240V AC mains source specially designed for classroom settings. . It is equipped with a stainless steel rod and sliding clamp for supporting different lengths of Spectrum Discharge Tubes. The instrument also features a recessed high voltage terminal located on the top face, and a removable mains cable. This powerful tool provides precise and reliable results. 

Spectrum tubes are long, thin lamps filled with specific gases. When electricity is passed through them, known wavelengths of light are emitted, making them useful for optical experiments. The initial high voltage needed for conductivity is later maintained at a lower voltage, which is provided by the power supply.
