This Current Balance Kit Small features a platform that attaches easily to the end cheek of the solenoid. It also includes a narrow blade that carries a single turn of conductor, providing balance through sensitive pivots on two small round support rods mounted on the platform.
When an electric current flows through both the solenoid coil and the single turn, the blade deflects due to the interaction of magnetic fields. To restore balance, small weights are placed on the beam, and the amount of weight needed is a direct measurement of the force on a conductor while it carries current through a magnetic field. This is the theory that causes electric motors to turn.

- 1 Balance beam with sliding weight, pivots and pointer
- 1 Platform with terminals and metal plates for the pivots to rest on
- 1 Rubber band for attaching the Platform to the end plate of the coil
