The Conductivity Ring is a traditional tool for showcasing the varying heat conductivity of different metals. Its sturdy ring shape encloses brass, copper, iron, and aluminum strips, all converging at the center. As the flame heats the center, a small amount of wax is added to the recess at the end of each strip. The melting of the wax accurately reflects the heat-conducting capabilities of each metal, clearly labeled with their corresponding initials.

Add a small pea-sized wax particle into the depressions on the outer tip of each of the 4 metal strips. Heat the center of the ring evenly using a Bunsen burner, where the points of the four strips meet. Compare the heat conductivity of each metal strip by observing the melting of the wax particles.
