The Solar Energy Motor and Fan includes a compact base that houses a solar generator, motor, and fan. It has switches for turning the unit on or off and reversing the motor's direction. A cowl is also provided for fan protection during use or storage. 

The product is designed to withstand heavy use by students. It operates efficiently in both direct sunlight and bright incandescent light. In low light environments, the fan may not automatically start, but can be manually initiated by gently rotating it with a finger.
