The Linear Expansion Apparatus with Steam Dial Indicator demonstrates and measures linear expansion that occurs when metal is heated. The apparatus includes a high-precision dial indicator used in engineering, capable of measuring changes in dimensions down to 0.01mm. 

Steam can be produced through the use of a boiling flask that includes a side branch for steam removal. Several tubes of different metals are supplied to provide comparisons in expansions. It also comes with a thermometer to track the temperature of metal tubes in varying hot and cold environments.
